This year 2016 marks Togen Daiko's 20th Anniversary culminating this November 5th in a fun cultural celebration of Togen's 20 years of development and accomplishments performed for the communities that supported us through the years.
We have been privileged to perform for the military, schools, churches, temples, and cultural events for public and private venues throughout Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. We want to continue to expand and share the living tradition of taiko, entertaining communities throughout the Central Coast. This 20th Anniversary Concert celebration is dedicated with gratitude to the communities that inspire us to continue to share this unique art form.
We have asked special guests: Kinnara Taiko of Los Angeles, the first Japanese American Buddhist taiko group formed in 1969; Ichimi Daiko of San Luis Obispo, our busy taiko friends from Northern California; and Azuma Kotobuki Kai of Ventura County, a classical Japanese dance troupe http://www.azuma-us.com, to create a varied entertaining program. MORE ABOUT OUR GUESTS.
Additionally in giving back to the communities, we have partnered with local nonprofits to spread their vision and affirm their impact in our community. During a ticket sale, you can designate your preferred nonprofit to receive 50% of your ticket dollars. We will also donate 10% of our total sponsorship dollars earned to Pets for Vets, who are dedicating their work to helping our veterans, http://www.petsforvets.com/.
With gratitude, we ask you to join us in our celebration Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 3 pm at the Oxnard High School Performing Arts Theater.
